| Inspired by the ordinary world around
her, Worth’s artwork focuses on the subtle play of light and color and the patterns
they create. “My hope is to capture a moment, a memory of things we see but perhaps
fail to notice the simple beauty they radiate.” Working in transparent watercolor
for many years she has also recently reintroduced herself to oil painting. Born
in the Midwest, Worth attended Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, moving
to Colorado Springs in 1991. In addition to her studio work she has taught drawing
and painting at both the high school and adult levels. She has served as artist-in-residence
at Rocky Mountain National Park and continues to lead an annual workshop in the
park. Worth's works are in the private collection of the J.C. Penney Company,
the National Park Foundation, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Pueblo Bank and
Trust. Juried into numerous national exhibitions, she has also been awarded the
Marble Medal by the American Watercolor Society, a bronze medallion at the Arts
for the Parks National Exhibition, the Irving Shapiro Memorial Watercolor Award
by the Northern Colorado Art Association and several purchase awards.
